Eppur Si Muove
I just received the results of an NSF survey of US adults’ knowledge of science, in which 16 percent of men and 32 percent of women surveyed failed to correctly answer the question, “Does the Earth go around the Sun, or does the Sun go around the Earth?” There was no gender-free overall stat in the summary, but it did note that women admitted “Don’t Know” more often on the test.
