Prattle from Seattle

I’ll be on the Todd Mundt Show today on NPR, talking about Waiting for Wi-Fi. The show streams live from Todd’s site at 1-2pm Eastern and again from 8-9pm Eastern.

Speaking of Wi-Fi, I’m posting this from my laptop behind the wheel of a rented Cadillac idling outside a Starbucks in downtown Seattle, logged into their MobileStar network. Last night Christina and I avoided having to dial up from our hotel room by double-parking in front of the closed coffeehouse on the next block to get our work done, joking that the Caddy was bigger than some of our previous offices. When my battery ran low, my wife pointed out that the swanky W hotel was just across the street. I traded mail with Doc at 376Kbps from the lobby bar, where a bank of little-used pay phones makes a perfect computing corner.
