Live from Not at Comdex
Monday, November 18th, 2002I’m always impressed with Doc Searls’ ability to break any computer he uses. I’m a distant second in that department. Really, companies should pay us to carry their prototypes around and stress-test them. If you see Doc at Comdex, say hello - he’s a great guy to know.
I’m dodging trade shows and conferences as usual, but I interviewed Fox superexec Peter Chernin about his Tuesday keynote. I couldn’t write off what he said as self-serving.
We’ve all got our own excuses for stealing IP, but at heart I’ll be glad if we can find a way to build an online (or offline) music database as all-encompassing as Napster or Audiogalaxy were, but with a way to compensate the people - not just the artists, but the managers and marketers and production and infrastructure staff - who deliver the value.
