| What if Google and Freezepop had a fight? |
|
|
It's the new Duran Duran - no wait, it's Sergey and Larry getting a lovely Warholesque drag treatment on the cover of the new Wired. I filed so many items for this issue I can't remember them all ... but most obviously, there's How to Kill Google. My interview with Google director of search quality Peter Norvig (the guy who did the PowerPoint version of the Gettysburg Address) got chopped down to one paragraph, but I had a great time talking to him anyway. Someone should do a real profile of Peter.
Two more dream interviews this month: Lawrence Krauss, author of The Physics of Star Trek, and my very favorite band, Freezepop, on their DIY approach to rock stardom.
(Sergey & Larry illustrated by Dave Kinsey for BLK/MRKT, Freezepop illo by Matt Taylor)

Washington Post on Bill Gates' new anti-spam plan, based on authentication rather than filtering. There were a zillion other anti-spam technologies also announced at the RSA security conference this week, but this is the one everyone will be watching and talking about.
