I’ve received much more mail than I can answer today. Thanks for all the anti-virus suggestions.
If you’re looking for help to remove a specific problem that Spybot etc haven’t removed, I suggest googling for message board entries from people who’ve spotted the same filenames (e.g. “id53.exe”) or error messages on their PCs. Those message boards are full of people who collectively know a lot more than me about the zillions of PC infections running around.
