The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill will be coming back to movie theatres in spring. David Edelstein found it sadly sweet. As a Telegraph Hill Dweller myself, I have to agree with his take on San Francisco: “The city where people who want to be in a city but can’t deal with cities end up, if they’re lucky.” Wild parrots on one side and sea lions on the other - who can complain?

I seem to be the last to find out that my fellow Wired News contributor Michelle Delio is catching flak over the veracity of anonymous sources in her stories. I’ll wait for the official report after WN finishes reviewing her work. But it’s a good excuse to gripe again about the overuse and under-vetting of anonymous sources to report “news” that may be phony rumors, or even a planted story. Take it away, Jack Shafer
